Theories of Asian Architecture
Project 1: Contextual Study Sketch Journal of a Traditional Street
Project 1 required us to choose a street from Kuala Lumpur to produce sketches and a short summary to provide information on the architecture and also the culture which dates back centuries ago. I chose Jalan Tun H.S. Lee as it has some of the oldest and most important pieces of architecture found in Kuala Lumpur and throughout my research I have also learned its rich history.

For this project we were required to produce an infographic based on the different styles of architecture we learnt during our weekly lectures. I chose to do the Malay Vernacular Architecture as I find it very interesting and to this day it is still one of the most beautiful architectural style.
Project 2: Poster and Seminar-Contemporary Issues in Asian Architecture
In groups we were tasked with making a poster and video to explore and give awareness of the issues facing the loss of Asian architecture. For our group we chose to explore the effects of modernization on the place identity of one of the famous streets of Kuala Lumpur which some of our group members did their project 1 on. We chose the street of Jalan Sultan.

After conducting our research, forming our questions and gathering answers, we made our poster and video with ease. It was a really fun project and our group communicated really well to come up with our final project.
